Community empowerment is a cornerstone of sustainable development in Maliba Subcounty, Kasese District. Many communities in this mountainous region have historically faced challenges such as limited access to clean water, sanitation facilities, and basic social services. In response, community-driven projects have been established to improve living conditions and strengthen local resilience. One of the most impactful initiatives has been the development of gravity flow water systems and other clean water projects designed to supply safe water to villages such as Isule, Nyangorongo, and Bikone. These projects aim to serve thousands of residents who previously walked long distances in search of water.
Through collaboration between community members, local leaders, and development partners, these projects are transforming lives and restoring dignity. When communities are actively involved in building, managing, and protecting their shared resources, they become empowered to sustain progress long into the future. By investing in water access, sanitation, and community-led solutions, Maliba Subcounty continues to move toward a healthier, more resilient, and more prosperous future for all.

Rwenzori Orphans and Rehabilitation Initiative implements comprehensive programs that focus on the education and training of orphans and vulnerable children, child protection, and the empowerment of marginalized communities. We promote environmental conservation and sustainable tourism as pathways to economic growth and cultural preservation. Through advocacy and lobbying, we amplify the voices of vulnerable populations to influence policies and protect human rights. Our holistic approach aims to build resilient, inclusive communities and foster sustainable development across Uganda.
